KeyPets

KeyPets

Tiny pixel-art pets that live on your desktop and grow as you type. A lightweight macOS menu bar companion that turns everyday typing into a quiet little game — it counts your key presses only, never what you write. Pet them, drag them, and keep your focus with a built-in timer, to-dos, and Pomodoro. An optional Studio Uchu AI chat is there when you want a hand.

Features

Grows As You Type

Every key press feeds your pet. Watch a pixel cat, slime, or dragon level up, evolve, and react in real time as you work.

Privacy First

KeyPets counts the number of key presses — nothing else. It never reads typed characters, app names, window titles, the clipboard, or passwords. Stats stay on your Mac.

Playful & Alive

Drag a pet and it stretches and swings on a rope like jelly. It speaks in little bubbles, follows your cursor, and heats up when you type fast.

Built-in Focus Tools

Right-click your pet for a comic-style bubble with a Timer, a To-do list, and a Pomodoro — quick focus tools that live right next to your companion.

Optional AI Chat

Double-click a pet to chat with a cute, practical AI assistant in its voice — powered by the shared Studio Uchu AI membership that works across other Studio Uchu apps.

Lives in Your Menu Bar

No Dock clutter, no heavy window. A floating pet plus a tidy menu bar popover with your typing stats — there when you want it, out of the way when you don't.

Privacy & Studio Uchu AI

The core app is private and offline. The only time anything leaves your Mac is if you choose to use the optional Studio Uchu AI chat — covered by the shared membership policy.
