See your math while you type it. Press ⌃⌘T in any app, write your answer in TeX, and read it as real math. Then copy the TeX with ⌘↩ and paste it wherever it is going.
Half-typed formulas still render, so you never lose track of what you are writing. A formula that cannot be drawn yet keeps its last good picture instead of going blank.
$…$, \[…\], align, cases, matrices, lists and sections, mixed with text. A line of TeX with no dollar signs is drawn too.
An index of symbols sits below the input: Greek letters, operators, relations, arrows, fractions and matrices. Hover a symbol to see its command, click it to type it.
⌘↩ copies the TeX and closes the popup, and the app you came from is still in front. Press ⌘V to paste into an AI chat, a form or a document.
PopTeX has no account, analytics, advertising or tracking, and makes no network requests. It asks for no special permissions. It draws math with KaTeX and is not a LaTeX compiler. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon.
