Privacy Policy — Halo

Effective date: July 18, 2026

Summary

Halo is an on-device macOS Window switcher and arranger. Studio Uchu does not collect, receive, upload, sell, or share personal information, Window titles, app names, Window positions, gesture data, or usage data from Halo. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking, or screen recording.

Information We Collect

None. Halo does not send personal data, Window metadata, diagnostics, or usage data to Studio Uchu or to a third-party service. It does not require an account or sign-in.

Accessibility Permission

Halo asks for macOS Accessibility permission so it can find standard Windows and read the limited state needed to operate them, including the owning app, Window title, position, size, and minimized state. It uses the same public macOS API to focus, move, resize, minimize, or restore a Window when you request an action. This information is processed on your Mac and is not uploaded.

Gesture and Keyboard Input

To recognize the controls you enable, Halo observes relevant macOS input events such as two-finger scrolling and magnification, modifier-key state, the selected global shortcut, and Escape while the Portal is open. Input is evaluated as it occurs. Halo does not record typed text, keep a key history, keep a gesture history, or transmit input events.

Screen Content

Halo does not request Screen Recording permission and does not capture screenshots, Window thumbnails, or the contents of your Windows. The Portal identifies Windows with locally available app icons and titles.

Data Stored on Your Mac

Halo stores small app preferences locally, such as enabled activation routes, chosen modifiers or shortcut, whether the setup guide has been shown, and your Launch at Login choice. Window focus history and restorable layout frames are held only for the running app session. Halo may write technical status and error messages to the local macOS unified log for troubleshooting; it does not transmit those logs.

Network, Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Halo has no app service backend and contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not use an advertising identifier. If you choose the Studio Uchu link in the app, macOS opens the public Studio Uchu website in your browser; the website and your browser then operate under their own policies.

Children's Privacy

Halo does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
