Privacy Policy — StudyNote Seiza

StudyNote Seiza stores your study library on your device. You can import questions, practice, and review without cloud AI. Optional AI, purchases, iCloud sync, external websites, and report exports involve the services described below.

Local study features

• Local JSON, Markdown, and CSV question import does not send your questions to an AI provider. On supported devices, Apple's on-device AI processes requests on the device.
• Your sources, notes, chat history, questions, review records, and settings are stored locally. API keys are stored in the system Keychain.
• The app does not use advertising trackers. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and entitlement information; this is separate from your study content.
• Using the free on-device mode requires no account.

Optional sync, external services, and exports

If you enable iCloud sync, supported study data is stored in your private iCloud account. If you choose a report export folder managed by iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or another sync service, that service may upload exported files according to your settings. Opening an external AI or website sends information you choose to share to that service. Fetching a link contacts the website you specify. Review the service's own privacy policy.

Optional: Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

You may optionally connect your own third-party AI provider (such as OpenRouter, OpenAI, Gemini, xAI, DeepSeek, and others) using your own API key. When you do, your prompts are sent directly from your device to the provider you selected. Studio Uchu does not intercept, store, or have access to that communication. Please review the privacy policy of the provider you choose.

Optional: Studio Uchu AI (the cloud membership)

StudyNote Seiza offers an optional membership, Studio Uchu AI, that uses a smarter cloud AI. This is a separate, shared service (it also works across other Studio Uchu apps). Data leaves your device only if you actively sign in and choose to use it.

When you use Studio Uchu AI, selected text and images pass through our Cloudflare backend to Google Cloud Vertex AI. Documents are extracted on your device; selected extracted text may be sent for AI processing. We do not send raw PDF, audio, or video files through this managed service. We use your Sign in with Apple identifier, subscription status from Apple/RevenueCat, consent, and usage metadata to provide access, calculate AI Credits, and prevent abuse. Our backend does not persist conversation bodies or generated answers. Google Cloud's retention and abuse-monitoring conditions apply; we do not guarantee zero data retention or a particular processing country.

Account deletion

If you use Studio Uchu AI, you can delete your membership account and its usage metadata at any time from within the App (Settings → Studio Uchu AI → Delete account). To stop billing, cancel the subscription from your Apple account settings.

Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
